Relief
I would like to point out Amazon's site to donate to the Red Cross to help tsunami disaster relief victims. Whatever you might feel about the Red Cross they are very good about getting relief efforts rolling and could use some help.
n
nI always tried to turn every disaster into an opportunity.…

I\’m Missing Something
As usual I must be missing something here. The number of people dead from the weekend tsunami keeps rising every hour. Tight now the number is over 50,000. I know this number is going to go higher yet and it's just unfathomable to me.
n
nThen I see this story talking…

Tsunami
The force of mother nature is truly astounding. I mean what can you say when faced with devestation of this magnitude. No matter what the failsafes we build in this world, mother nature will outwit them and wreck destruction. It has always been that way and will continue to be that way. Unbelievable.
n<br…

Beware
Another danger of the computer age has become known to men. Hot laptops could cook men's fertility. Dangers lurk everywhere in the world and for computer geeks another one has reared it's ugly head. Glad I don't use a laptop, it's a little hard to use when horseback so I don't have these…

Sad Statement
I read a couple of different stories this morning that piqued my interest and really made me wonder. Neither story was worth thinking about on its own but together really made me wonder about mankind's motivations. The first story deals with opium production in Afghanistan and the other…

Animals
Animals have played a very important part until recently in most wars through out the world. Dogs particularly still play a large roll but others have slowly been fading out. I see that the British have erected a <a title=" War memorial for all brave creatures great and small" href="http://news.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2004/11/25/nanim25.xml" target=_blank">memorial to animals who served…

Helmets

Where does personal responsibility enter the equation?
n
nWhen government accepts responsibility for people, then people no longer take responsibility for themselves. George Pataki

Global Warming
Global warming is one of those issues that intrigues me quite a bit. The prevailing wisdom is that the world is coming to an end due to global warming and we need to do something now while a minority opinion is that the whole concept is hog wash and there's no such thing. I always…

Opinion
Ozguru has a very insightful analysis of our recent election.
n
n
Whether you are pro-Bush or anti-Bush or even pro-Kerry or anti-Kerry (Iâ

Advice
If you can't beat them, eat them. This is the advice the UN is giving African farmers to cope with the locust plauqe they are currently dealing with. Real damned helpful they are, aren't they?
n
nAdvice is what we ask for when we already know the answer but wish we didn't. Erica…
