Meatpackers

You have heard me complain more than once the big meatpackers control the cattle orginazations and many Senators and CongressCritters. I knew, but never talked about yet, that they also had thier way with the USDA, a major department of the Federal Government. It looks like somebody is finally blowing the whistle on this conspiracy between the Big Meatpackers and the Government. I wish them luck but I bet they will get nowhere.
n
nA local Montana boy has taken on the USDA over its collusion with the Big Meatpackers and what did he get for his trouble? Closed down and put out of buisness. He is fighting back but he has a pretty high fence to climb to fight such a powerful combination. I hope these federal meat inspectors get thier message out and some action taken on it. It would help us all.
n
nThe government is huge, stupid, greedy and makes nosy, officious and dangerous intrusions into the smallest corners of life-this much we can stand. But the real problem is that government is boring. We could cure or mitigate the other ills Washington visits on us if we could only bring ourselves to pay attention to Washington itself. But we cannot. P.J. O'Rourke
