Leroy The Redneck Reindeer. A humorous Christmas tune by Joe Diffie. An elementary school in Texas was going to perform this tune for their Christmas pageant when <a href="http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/news/120304_local_song.html" target="_blank">one parent objected</a>. The problem? <br />n<br />n<blockquote>A portion of the lyrics say, "Santa wrapped his bag with a Dixie flag, he was having the time of his life."</blockquote><br />n<br />nYes, mention of the "Dixie flag" means the song is racist according to this parent.<br />n<br />n<blockquote>Parent Jennifer Scott said, "I think it's ignorance, number one. Number two, it's very racist."</blockquote><br />n<br />nI don't know that I have heard this song so in case I was missing something I looked up the <a href="http://lyrics.duble.com/J/joediffielyrics/joediffieleroytheredneckreindeerlyrics.htm" target="_blank"> lyrics</a>. I don't see anything "racist" in the song at all. It seems like somebody is just out to make waves because they can.
