Mental

Rep. Ron Paul failed in his attempt to remove the new <a href="http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=39078" target=_blank">mandatory mental-health screening program that Bush has proposed, by a wide margin. I thought for sure that congress would pass his amendment stripping it from the appropriations bill since it is not only a financial drain on our country but a violation of our freedoms. Many opponents of this measure claim that Bush is doing this as a favor to the drug companies so they can sell more anti-depressant and ant-psychotic medicines and therefore reap larger profits. I am not sure if that is what is going on but I do know I think Congress needs a mental health screening for passing such intrusive legislation.
n
nI am sure there are a lot of people out there that think this would be a great thing. I question how they are going to enforce this. If you don't want one of their "screenings" are they going to lock you away in prison or a mental hospital till you do "voluntarily" submit?
n
nThe commission recommended that the screening be linked with "treatment and supports," including "state-of-the-art treatments" using "specific medications for specific conditions."
n
nWho can complain? Government sponsored treatment and drugs for everyone, especially children. What a deal, no longer will you have to buy your drugs on the street corner to lull yourself into dazed compliance. The Government will give them to you to keep the populace dazed, confused and compliant so that nobody will have the will to dissent on its policies. Kind of a win, win situation for the government but definitely a losing proposition for our children and our freedoms. But that is the way our Police State is going nowadays. Loss of freedoms and larger Government controls whether its Democrats or Republicans. They are out to crush the little people.
n
nwork is only part of a manâ
