Homeschool

My Darling Wife and I made the decision many years ago to homeschool our children since we lacked faith in the adequacy of the public education system. We had to modify this since then because our eldest daughter did not take well to the situation and we ended up for her sake sending her to public school. The thing is we at least have the option to home school or not and have a say in the education of our children. It appears that in Germany this isn't the case. They are even threatening to take the children away from the parents for home schooling, causing the families to flee the country in terror. This just shows me what our country is about, freedom. Freedom to make choices, within the strictures of an omnipresent government of course, in many things including education. Hopefully we will always have these freedoms but the way the Federal Government is going I doubt it. I will just enjoy them while I can.
n
nAn education isn't how much you have committed to memory, or even how much you know. It's being able to differentiate between what you do know and what you don't. Anatole France
