Assessment

Well after the big thunderstorm Thursday night and the rain Friday, we went out yesterday to assess the situation in the hills due to the storm. There always seems to be bad that goes along with something good and this rain storm is no different.<br />n<br />nThe good was that it run enough water from the thunderstorm that it filled some stock ponds with water and will help that situation out. The grass all ready looks greener but i know that is in my mind.<br />n<br />nThe bad was that it run enough water from the thunderstorm that it took some fences out which will require some major fence rebuilding.<br />n<br />nThe ugly was that it run enough water from the thunderstorm that it run a bunch of silt and debris into a vital spring and plugged it up. I am getting no water from the spring. We are going to see what we can do about it today and hope we can get it working. If not I am going to have to hire a backhoe to come in and clean it out. What a mess.<br />n<br />nSo that is the good, the bad, and the ugly of the situation. Overall the good things probable out weigh the bad but the bad things are all just a big nuisance to deal with. Mark Twain</b><br />n<br />n<b>UPDATE</b>: Well the spring appears to be ok but it is going to take some work to get there. There are cattle in the pasture depending on the water so am going to move them to a different pasture tommorrow while I get the water working.
