Women’s Rights

There are a lot of "feminists" that would say women are an abused class in the US. If they really want to see women that have no rights they should go to poor countries in the world. For all the "progress" we are dubiously making in Afghanistan, progress for women is almost non-existent. How we can promote women's rights in these countries is beyond me but it really needs to be done.
n<!–more–>
nThis whole "war on terror" started in Afghanistan with the Taliban and Al-Queda. So why are we using so much of our precious resources in Iraq when, to my satisfaction, it has never been shown that they had significant dealings with Al-Queda? The Taliban and Al-Queda in Afghanistan were directly responsible for the 9/11 attacks and something needed to be done and the job was started but has yet to be finished. So why aren't we finishing the job properly? Letting the "warlords" take over the countryside again and enslave the population to their goals is not helping either the women or the general population gain their rights which all humans should have.
n
nHolding a gun on their heads is never going to do it in the long run. But in the short term it needs to be done until a stable democracy can be established that all the people respect. The appropriate support needs to be sent to Afghanistan to get this job done. The rights of people have to be allowed by common consent and those males in power as "warlords" are very averse to allowing it. The plight of the downtrodden in this world is a tragedy and we should all work to change it.
n
nSafeguarding the rights of others is the most noble and beautiful end of a human being.
