Billings works to rid streets of crows. I first read this and thought that the wording was a little poor since Billings is in close proximity to the Crow Indian Reservation. So I thought they were chasing Indians out of town. I right away knew what they meant. Then I read the article and got a big kick out of it. Haven't had this good of laugh in days.
n
nThey emerged at dusk: two foes locked in a battle over turf.
n
nFor the next three hours Monday, each side marshaled all of the cunning and weapons at their disposal. The men used horns, lights, lasers and water. The crows, well, they dropped bombs from the air.
n
nIt personally sounds like the crows had a little more cunning on their side, or maybe it's just persistence. Maybe if these birds were "bombing" me I wouldn't find this so humorous. I applaud Mike Stark. Thanks for the laughs. I don't know if it was intentional or not, but it was very humorous. The only non-funny thing I see in all of this is the question of how much this little "campaign" is costing the city in overtime costs for employees and costs of equipment.
n
nHumor is an affirmation of man's dignity, a declaration of man's superiority to all that befalls him.
