Taking Care of The Problem

I found the Gazette Opinion piece, Gazette opinion: Cooperate on community pet problems , interesting but it left out one important thing.
n
nFIX YOUR CRITTER!!!!
n
nEvery owner of a cat or dog needs to do their part to help control the populations of these animals and the easiest thing they can do is spay or neuter their critter unless they have something really special and plan on judiciously breeding it.
n
nOur new dog Lucky is not yet neutered but will be after My Darling Wife makes the appointment today, he goes back in to be dipped and checked over again today. Even our barn cats around here are fixed so we don't have a problem with unwanted cats around the place. I say this as an example of taking personal responsibility for your critter and every pet owner should do it or in my opinion you are part of the problem mentioned in the opinion piece. The Animal Care places don't particularly need more money or help if more owners properly took care of their critters by doing the right thing.
n
nPersonal responsibility. Learn it. Live it. Love it.
n
nSince we humans have the better brain, isn't it our responsibility to protect our fellow creatures from, oddly enough, ourselves? Joy Adamson
