Yesterday morning we went out riding to move some cows around to different water to scatter them around the pastures better. No big deal just some stuff that needed done. By coincidence we rode by some of our yearlings in another pasture and we happened to notice one of them was just coming down with foot rot. She was close to water so we decided to deal with her after we were done moving the cows.
n
nWhen we were done moving the cows there was almost half of the yearlings on water so we started looking for the one with foot rot. When we were done riding through them we had 6 head with beginning foot rot out of 45 head of yearlings. Now this is a really strange occurrence for me. I occasionally have a case of foot rot but to have such an outbreak at one time I have never seen before.
n
nWe are going to have to do some more riding today to track down the rest of the yearlings and look them over for foot rot too. I'm betting there is a few more out there. It is strange though.
n
nStrange to know nothing, never to be sure
nOf what is true or right or real,
nBut forced to qualify or so I feel….
n
nPhilip Larkin
n
nUPDATE: All the yearlings were located and no more had foot rot. Even stranger if you ask me.
