Itchy Feet

I've had these feelings before. It hasn't been too bad this winter though. There has been enough of a break in the cold snaps around here not to drag me down too bad. The winter that most stands out in my mind is the winter of 96-97. I will never forget sitting on Christmas day, looking out the window at the cold weather and the feet of snow we had wondering why in the hell did I ever get out of the Navy.
n<!–more–>
nI mean I was stationed in Hawaii for cryin' out loud. Warm days and nights. No need for a coat. Sheer bliss when you are looking out over a frozen bleak landscape. I got over the feelings that day and others like it through that miserable winter. All most every winter I get that winter blah that makes me yearn for a warmer climate but a trip is out of the question. Let alone where will the money come from, I have critters to take care of. Responsibility, what a drag.
n
nAs human beings, we are endowed with freedom of choice, and we cannot shuffle off our responsibility upon the shoulders of God or nature. We must shoulder it ourselves. It is our responsibility. Arnold J. Toynbee
