Calves Sold

I sold the calves. I was offered a better price earlier but it's time to sell and the market isn't going to get any better.<br />n<br />n$1.22 per pound for the steers weighing 575 lbs., 8 cent slide both ways, 2% pencil shrink across the ranch scales , bawling off the cows with no pre-conditioning. Six cents back on the heifers at 550 lbs. Shipping date around the first of October.<br />n<br />nTake the money and run I say. It's better than last year and the best I've seen.<br />n<br />n<b>Enthusiasm is NOT the same as just being excited. One gets excited about going on a roller coaster.
