We’re Getting There

It looks like by the end of the week we might be done with the first cutting of hay. It is awful mature but will make feed. I decided not to do the wild/grass hay since it is so mature. The alfalfa fields on the Sarpy side have an unbelievable amount of hay on them. I estimate it's going about 2.5 ton/acre which is an incredible amount for non-irrigated alfalfa. I am going to have to start on second cutting as soon as the first is done. I don't get a second very often but some of the first fields cut are coming back pretty good and will yield a little more hay.
n
nI talked to the gas delivery guy the other night and he tells me they are harvesting wheat like mad in the Hardin area. It's going 50-60 bushels/acre so they are all happy. Wheat harvest is going on and I'm still cutting first cutting hay. That's the breaks I guess.
n
nTo finish the moment, to find the journey's end in every step of the road, to live the greatest number of good hours, is wisdom.
