Yesterday while out haying I heard a news report that piqued a question in my mind. I heard this and can't find a quote so I will relate the story the best I can from memory.
n
nPresident Bush stated in an interview with a Danish newspaper that he hopes Palestinians poverty is discussed at the G8 conference as well as Africa. He stated that there are a lot more countries than those in Africa that are dealing with poverty and the upcoming G8 conference should deal with them all. This report was published in a Danish newspaper on the eve of his trip to Denmark. Denmark has 500 troops in Iraq. The president plans to spend Sunday night in Denmark before continuing on to Scotland for the G8 conference the next day.
n
nOkay, the news story deals with what is going to be discussed at the G8 conference and how the President is getting there through Denmark. Why the hell was the comment about Denmark having 500 troops in Iraq inserted in the story? What does it have to do with what the news story is about? I can't see the connection personally. I wish someone could explain it to me.
n
nI think you have to deal with the confused situation that we're faced with by seizing on the glimpses and particles of life, seizing on them and holding them and trying to make a pattern of them. In other words, trying to put a world back together again out of its fragmentary moments. Archibald MacLeish
