I Wonder

There seems to be a lot of controversy today over the <a href="http://www.billingsgazette.com//index.php?id=1&display=rednews/2005/06/07/build/state/30-mt-marijuana.inc">Supreme Court's decision</a> that the Federal Government doesn't have to respect State Laws. I won't say the decision is a surprise since the Federal Government is power hungry but I wonder what happened to the 9th and 10th Amendments to our Constitution which clearly cover this situation.<br />n<br />n<blockquote>Amendment IX<br />n The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people. <br />nAmendment X<br />n The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.</blockquote><br />n<br />nOh, excuse me, I forgot. [sarcasm]The people or the states deciding something contrary to the Feds? We're not smart enough for that.[/sarcasm] This is exactly why these Amendments are ignored, it dilutes the powers the Feds have and they can't stand that.<br />n<br />n<b>I wonder, Diz, if this Don Quixote hasn't got the jump on all of us.
