Made Up Holiday

Valentine's Day. Why did the card companies make up a holiday such as this? To sell stuff. I will guarantee you that it doesn't take a special day in the year for me to tell My Darling Wife that I love her. I love her every day, day in and day out without reservation. It is insulting to me to set aside a special day to "proclaim my love" for her. This made up holiday makes me madder and madder every year. What really makes me mad is those people who think it is the be all end all of romantic days. If it takes Valentine's day for you to be romantic or do something special for your loved one, you had better re-evaluate your relationship. It's in trouble.<br />n<br />nP.S. I am moderating comments to this entry because last time I expressed sentiments like this the public insulted My Darling Wife for marrying a creep such as me. Call me a creep all you want, but don't attack My Darling Wife.
