If you build it, they will come. This seems to be the philosophy the , Hardin's economic development arm, used when it built a jail for $20 million dollars. They didn't have any contracts for prisoners, they just built the damn thing anyway knowing somehow that everything would work out okay. Now they are in trouble. No prisoners and they are waiting to see if they can take in Wyoming prisinors to try and pay the damn bills. Guess who is going to be responsible for the bills if they don't get any prisoners? Us tax payers I'm sure.
n
n
But the clock is already ticking on $27 million in revenue bonds that need to be repaid. So far, a reserve fund from the sale of the bonds has covered debt service, but that money will run out at the end of the year.

n
nI can't wait to see what Hardin is going to do with this big boondoggle now. Maybe they need to encourage the local population to commit more crimes or have the local Sheriff arrest more people to try and fill the space up.
n
nHardin has been drooling for a prison for almost 15 years now. Why they want one is beyond me but now that they have it, will the prisoners come?
n
nThe empty vessel makes the loudest sound. William Shakespeare
