This is my autistic son in his height of glory pretending to drive a firetruck. I know, autistic kids aren't supposed to pretend but he sometimes does which we encourage. He sees this picture and just ducks his head and smiles. He is very self conscious about such things but he does remember it and enjoys the memory.
n
nThis picture was not taken by me so I can claim no credit for it. In fact, I was not there when the picture was taken. My Darling Wife and boy went to Columbus to visit my sister and run an errand for the family. My sister works as a part time firefighter I guess, she never has explained that to me, and took the boy down to the firehouse to see the fire trucks. She let him wear her helmet and shirt and sit in the fire trucks. I guess he was in his height of glory.
n
nI wish to thank my sister for this. It means a lot to me and the boy.
