Montana Legislature alert. (I'll add this to all post that are very strictly about the Legislature for those not interested.)
nWith the Montana Legislature in session I have been paging through the bills proposed and a few caught my eye. Here is one.
n
nHB 103
n
nAmend constitution to revise qualifications for legislative candidates
n
n
A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: "AN ACT SUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF MONTANA AN AMENDMENT TO ARTICLE V, SECTION 4, OF THE MONTANA CONSTITUTION TO REQUIRE A CANDIDATE FOR THE LEGISLATURE TO BE A RESIDENT OF THE DISTRICT; AND PROVIDING A DELAYED EFFECTIVE DATE."

n
nPretty straight forward here. They want to submit to the voters a Constitutional Amendment to ensure that a candidate is a resident of the district they are running in. Very logical and sensible.
n
nReferred to the House State Administration Committee. No Hearing date set.
