Voting

Absentee ballots pour into election office"
n
n
An old election quip encourages the electorate "to vote early and often." Nowadays the first half of the maxim is legal and popular as a record number of voters cast their ballots before election day.
n
n"It is a growing trend," said Duane Winslow, Yellowstone County election administrator.
n
nWinslow said Thursday that absentee balloting in the county has already exceeded the record set two years ago in the Montana presidential primary.

n
nI remembered when I read this I meant to mention this week that I had done my duty to the Republic by voting in the Primary while I was in town taking care of business. There must have been 10 people running for our local Sheriff position. That was a tough one to make a decision on. Otherwise it was pretty easy. I could probable list who I voted for and that would tell you who was going to lose. In the last 4 or 5 elections I don't think I have voted for a single candidate that has won. We will wait and see if that still holds true after this one.
n
nGiving every man a vote has no more made men wise and free than Christianity has made them good. H. L. Mencken
