A Little Feed

I started giving a little bit of feed to the calves and yearlings yesterday morning. The yearlings are just getting cake since they know what it is but the calves are getting hay so I can try to get them to eating cake.
n
n

n
nThe yearling heifers were sure glad to see the cake. They are looking really good but I figure it's time to give them an energy boost since they will be calving in a couple of months and their nutritional needs are going up pretty high right now.
n
n

n
nThe calves are the real impetus behind feeding a little. They are beginning to look a little rough and need the extra nutrition going into the winter. Once I get them going good on cake I will cut back on the hay for now but it's the only way I know to get their heads down looking at the cake. The horses in the background were not real happy they weren't getting fed.
n
nThey are doing fine except for one young horse and he is all ready at home getting some extra vittles to get him in good shape for the winter.
n
nFeeding season is fast approaching. In a way I am looking forward to the daily grind of feeding and in a way I'm not. Oh, well, that's life.
n
nIn the clock's over-loud ticking we hear the mockery of light-years for the span of our existence. Theodor Adorno
