Blue Sky

We have blue sky now but that was quite a storm for so early in the winter season. Around a foot of snow here. Electricity was out from Tuesday evening until Wednesday afternoon. Doesn't sound real unusual around the area for this storm but it was a trial.
n
nI let the replacment heifer calves out of the corral on Monday because it was time and it was raining and I didn't want them standing around in a muddy corral. We tracked them down this morning and fed them some hay.
n
n

n
nThe heavy wet snow really pulled the trees down in the yard but it wasn't so bad in the hills. Most of the trees in the hills didn't have leaves any more so the weren't weighed down as bad but the ones in the yard with all the leaves didn't fare well. Once it dries up a little I will have to clean the mess up in the yard but there's no hurry.
n
n

n
nI sure am glad my shipping is done. I don't have to set here and stew and fret about when it will get dry enough to get calves out of here. I know other people in the area are in that boat. I feel for them but I'm glad it's them and not me. Tommorrow we will track down all the cattle and see how they are faring. With the forecast like it is There will be grass showing again in a couple of days and they will be fine. I'm sure they think they are abused and need a bale of hay right now but they will manage. Save that hay for a real snowy day.
n
nI'm simply an accident. Why take it all so seriously? Emile M. Cioran
n
