Height of Stupidity.

I read a story about <a href="http://www.billingsgazette.com/index.php?display=rednews/2005/08/17/build/nation/33-wildamerica.inc">relocating lions and elephants to the Great Plains</a> and I wonder how stupid can you be. As if we don't have enough problems in the US with <a href="http://www.invasivespecies.gov/">Invasive species</a>, now some jack ass wants to do such a thing on purpose. It's bad enough when an Invasive species gets started by accident like the <a href="http://www.invasivespecies.gov/profiles/bts.shtml">brown tree snake in Guam</a> but it has been done before on purpose and the results have been catastrophic.<br />n<br />nThe <a href="http://www.deh.gov.au/biodiversity/invasive/ferals/">Cane toad, European wild rabbit, European red fox, Feral camel, Feral cat, Feral goat, Feral horse, Feral donkey, Feral pig, and Feral water buffalo</a> are all Invasive Species of Australia that were introduced with all good intention to the continent and now wreck havoc and are out of control. We don't need to do such things again. A little common sense needs to prevail here. It doesn't matter if the animals are to be introduced to "vast ecological parks and private reserves" or public lands. An Invasive Species is an Invasive Species and the long term ramifications can not be seen at this time and could be horrible in the future.<br />n<br />nInvasive Species are a problem all over the world. Let's not add to the problem with half-wit ideas. If you want to save the species in Africa do so there. Don't bring them over here to do it.
