If you remember I was complaining the other day about it being so nice and wanting to get out and work. Well I have been busy the past few days. It finally got the frost out of the ground and it was time to seed the hay barley. 120 acres this year. It spit a little last night, hopefully I can get another day of seeding in which will finish the job.
n
nThe seed salesman tried to convince me that I needed to seed triticale with my hay barley to improve my yield. I've never heard of triticale so I declined his oh, so generous offer of seed that would cost more money than the Haybet barley I was using. He extolled me with the virtues of the stuff, like I really believed him, so i finally decided to try 400 lbs. of it to see how it works. It won't hurt me and who knows, maybe it will be great stuff, I'll see.
n
nI see the weather is supposed to be turning more towards normal starting this weekend. It will be nice to see but why does it have to finally decide to get colder with a chance of moisture when I am starting to calve? I knew this was going to happen. Beutiful weather until calving really got going then bad weather. Well that's the way the cookie crumbles. Need the moisture so I will try not to complain to loud.
n
nThe usual complaint is: I have no other way of earning a living. The harsh reply can be: Do you have to live? Tertullian
