I'm just a dumb cowboy and I know it's dry here. Does it really take some "expert" to tell me this?
n
nI know it could rain/snow tomorrow and give me enough moisture to scrape through another year, but I'm tired of scraping through. I'm tired of the drought and the worry and fretting that goes along with it. Tired of seeing trees and brush dying due to lack of moisture. Tired of wondering if it will grow any grass to feed cattle or am I going to have to sell the whole kit-n-kaboodle.
n
nWhen will this pattern change? I've quit looking at the weather forecast because it is so depressing. Day after day of nice warm weather, it's enough to drive a person crazy.
n
n
New technology combining data of all kinds into computer models is only now exceeding the ability of statistical forecasts to predict what will happen next, Redmond said. Computer modeling is experimental right now, he said, so its accuracy is still in doubt.
n
nUnfortunately for Montana, the models show continued dry weather.
n
n"Look on the bright side," he said. "They could be wrong."

n
nCould they be wrong? I'm really begining to doubt it. Lewis and Clark thought that this was a big desert when they came through. It turned out at the time they were wrong but maybe it was just a prophecy on things to come since it seems to be turning into one now.
n
nI will just keep saying to myself;
nit's <s>not</s> going to rain,
nit's <s>not</s> going to rain,
nit's <s>not</s> going to rain.
nMaybe it will make me feel better.
n
nThe man who is a pessimist before 48 knows too much; if he is an optimist after it, he knows too little.
