Why?

Why does <a title="Chicago mayor's son enlists in Army" href="http://www.billingsgazette.com//index.php?id=1&display=rednews/2004/12/01/build/nation/55-daley.inc" target="_blank">Patrick Daley joining the Army</a> make national news when all other people joining the Army doesn't?
