Guards

Armed security guards in public schools. For better or worse it's a sign of our times in a lot of places around the country. I understand security guards are used instead of police because they are so much cheaper but we can hope they don't shoot any better than this one does.
n
n
Thomas said she approached the student and tried to detain him, but he became aggressive, pushed her, then reached under his shirt.
n
n"She thought he was reaching for a weapon. She drew and fired one time, striking him in the foot," Sgt. Paul Accardo said.

n
nI wasn't there or involved so I can't say if drawing the gun was necessary but it appears to be appaling marksmanship to hit him in the foot after drawing your weapon. It turns out to be a good deal she was such a bad shot but really makes me wonder about the competence of security guards.
n
nCompetence, like truth, beauty, and contact lenses, is in the eye of the beholder.
