Libertarians

Do you remember the Free State Project where a bunch of Libertarians were going to move to a state and change the whole political system to their point of view? You might remember Montana was in the running but finally lost out to New Hampshire in the voting. Well I run across a new organization called the FreeWest.org that is advocating the same thing for the tri-state region of Montana, Wyoming and Idaho. I run across this information in this very interesting article:
n
nMontana: A Place Libertarians Can Call Home
n
nIn it the authors give 12 reasons why Montana is the place Libertarians would want to live.
n
n<!–more–>
n
nI noticed a few little things they missed though. The people in Montana don't vote Libertarian since something like %98+ voted for either Bush or Kerry and somehow completely missed Bardnick as their Libertarian option and we also voted to define a marriage as an institution between a man and women which leaves out a lot of people which is a very non-Libertarian thing to do. They mention no sales tax, and low property taxes (I would like to know how they define low property taxes personally as I am looking at my tax bill right now and it seems pretty pricey to me) but they fail to mention our high personal and business income taxes which are definitely a Libertarian no-no.
n
nI personally don't think we have much to worry about. I keep hearing how there are no good paying jobs in Montana so that will make it a little hard to move here. No job, no money, equals no place to live, nothing to eat, thats the Libertarian viewpoint. Hell, worst comes to worst we can use our "enormous and politically active gun culture" to chase them out.
n
nHome is the place where, when you have to go there, They have to take you in.
