The family made a trip to Casper, WY on Saturday for a wedding reception and again I am going to have to be thankful. Maybe I am a little prejudiced, but the best and greenest grass I saw on the whole trip was right here at home. Don't get me wrong the country between Buffalo, WY and Casper is a desert in a good year so there is no comparison there, but between Buffalo and Sheridan, WY which usually is very productive country was pretty dry looking. I will tell you they are suffering in this drought too. Grass was pretty lean in that country but I will say that I did see a lot of irrigation going on so they must have some stockpiled water available which is better than some drought areas.
n
nI guess this just shows a person that they need to be thankful for what they have in life, not always complaining about what they don't have.
n
nI am thankful for small mercies. I compared notes with one of my friends who expects everything of the universe, and is disappointed when anything is less than best, and I found that I begin at the other extreme, expecting nothing, and am always full of thanks for moderate goods.
