My oldest daughter is leaving tommorrow for a trip. This was arranged by a teacher at school, but is not a school trip. It cost a pretty decent chunk of money but I felt it was well worth it for the oppurtunity she would have to see and experience the sights she might not get a chance to ever again. You might be wondering at this point where she is going. Washington D.C.
n
nNow I am going to be a little selfish here. I am real curious how the state funeral of Ronald Reagan is going to impact her trip to our nations capitol? She is going to be there through the hieght of the funeral. The teacher sponsering the trip had gotten permission to tour the White House and the Capitol building. Is that going down the tubes now? With all the foriegn dignitaries in town, how tight is security going to be and will they get to do anything interesting? To my daughter who is 13, Ronald Reagan is a President from the past that she sees as having no bearing on her life and she, or the other kids on the trip, aren't very likely to be much interested in a state funeral. Oh well, I guess this is the way the cookie crumbles and we will just have to wait and see how it turns out.
n
nSome things are so unexpected that no one is prepared for them.
