Well we took the boyz of summer out to the yearlings today so that they can have cute little babies next spring. Usually I try to put them out on the 1st of May but I had to go over to one of the neighbors and help them brand. They help me so I help them. It was just a little bunch so I took my two girls over with me to help and to teach them the ranch business. The youngest still doesn't ride very well and after getting bucked off her horse last year is still a little scared of riding. Don't get me wrong here I am not making her ride, she is bound and determined even as scared as she is to learn how to ride. I am doing my best to teach her but I have a real hard time since riding a horse is so natural to me I don't even think about it anymore and I have a real hard time telling someone else how to do it. We will get there one of these days.
n<!–more–>
nMy oldest daughter is 13 and she was asked to wrestle calves with me. I had to laugh to myself. All she did was complain to me that she had to wrestle the calves, but I could tell she was really proud that the guy in charge thought she was old enough to do a "real job." She only had to wrestle about 30 or 40 and the guy gave her a break. She was real tired but proud. So was I. She done a real good job. This whole month on the weekends is pretty full of brandings. I am going to try to take the girls to as many as I can. It is good character building for them to go and work with the rest of the guys, even if they aren't too sure at times.
n
nYou must accept responsibility for your actions, but not the credit for your achievements.
