This whole thing about the Iraqi prisoners being mistreated is unbelievable to me. This was just a tragedy in our relations with the Arab world and it has been brought on by the acts of a few people. Now the claim is that the soldiers that did this didn't know any better because they didn't have comprehensive training on Geneva Convention rules. BULLSHIT!!! Excuse my French please. You cannot convince me that people trained as MP's for the military don't have basic training in Geneva Accords and it doesn't take training in the Geneva Convention, if you are a human being, to know how to treat people, even prisoners. The biggest problem I see with this is the military trying to whitewash the whole incident and not punishing those who perpetrated this outrage. Yea, I see the President is vowing punishment to try to appease the Arab world but I doubt it will happen.
n
nIf human beings are fundamentally good, no government is necessary; if they are fundamentally bad, any government, being composed of human beings, would be bad also.
