Seeding

Well I'm happy to tell you I got <a href="http://www.nowherethoughts.net/sarpysam/archives/000284.html">The Beast</a> running and finished farming the chunk of ground and went on to seed it. I <a href="http://www.nowherethoughts.net/pics/seeding.jpg" onclick="window.open('http://www.nowherethoughts.net/pics/seeding.jpg','popup','width=566,height=302,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0'); return false">planted</a> 120 acres of haybet barley so I can have enough hay for my cattle next winter. It always seems strange to me that I am worrying about and working on the feed for next winter when I am still feeding hay to the cows at the present time. I guess planning ahead gets the job done.<br />n<!–more–><br />nFinally the <a href="http://www.nowherethoughts.net/pics/twins.jpg" onclick="window.open('http://www.nowherethoughts.net/pics/twins.jpg','popup','width=800,height=330,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0'); return false">twins and their mom</a> have calmed down enough to allow me to get the pictures that people wanted. After I had got a good look at the twins mom I knew why she was so wild. Here is the twins <a href="http://www.nowherethoughts.net/pics/gma.jpg" onclick="window.open('http://www.nowherethoughts.net/pics/gma.jpg','popup','width=420,height=463,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0'); return false">grandma</a>. She is a heck of a producer but is extremely wild. The only reason I got close enough to take her picture is that she is getting so old. I got a look at her year brand and she is 16 years old. That is ancient and decrepit for a range cow so I was able to catch up with her. She is going to have another calf so it looks like she is going to get to stay another year.<br />n<br />n<b>When we are planning for posterity, we ought to remember that virtue is not hereditary.
