A county in Oregon has banned issuing all marriage licenses until the same sex marriage issue has been decided. I've kind of said all along since this whole brouhaha about same sex marriages has erupted that the answer to the whole thing is for the government to get out of the marriage business entirely. I mean that is what the license is all about. The government giving you permission to get married. Why is the government involved in this business? Make marriage a purely religious institution. That would solve all the problems. This county has the right idea and might be a model for the rest of the country.
n
nNothing astonishes men so much as common sense and plain dealing.
