Not Thinking

I sometimes wonder what people are thinking and this is a perfect example of this phenomena. Putting down an animal when there is not any hope for it is one thing. Doing it in front of a bunch of kids, that aren't yours, in a cruel way is something else entirely.
n<!–more–>
nI recently had to put down a calf that there was no hope for. All he was doing was suffering and dying a slow agonizing death. I did every thing I could to try to save him but finally had to admit the futility of my actions and put him down. Believe me, it's a hard thing to do. One of the things I have to do occasionally that I agonize over every time I do it and then feel like a failure since I couldn't get them well. I don't make everyone watch though since it is needless. My family understands that sometimes it needs to be done, but they don't need to see me do it. This teacher failed to give a very good lesson. I don't know much about rabbits, but if they couldn't be saved she should have humanely put them down and then told the students what she did afterwords. This would have been much more appropriate.
n
nAll cruel people describe themselves as paragons of frankness. Tennessee Williams
