Hoax

The cruelty of some people astounds me. <a href="http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A41166-2004Feb13.html">Report of Iraq Death Is a Hoax</a> (free registration required to read). To summarize, someone called a man, pretended to be from the Army, and informed him his wife was killed in Iraq. The caller had enough personal information that the man felt it was the real thing. He learned different 24 hours later when his wife called him. It would be devastaing to get a phone call informing you that your spouse is dead. I can't even imagine the torment this man went through and what possible motive would someone have to do such a thing. I sometimes wonder about humans and the cruel things they do to one another.
