Sometimes I wonder if I will ever understand how politics work. Today we are seeing all kinds of stories stating that the Democrats want national ID system for cattle. Now the Agriculture Dept. has been working on this from before the BSE scare and has accelerated their progress on developing it since. So, except for some nebulous political advantage, why are they bringing up the issue now? I'm not even sure what political advantage they may gain from it. The only sensible thing in the whole article was the statement by Sen. Max Baucus, "We brand all our cattle." I have to agree that this would be an easy, effictive herd ID method but of course it will never fly in todays high tech world.
n
nIf an idea's worth having once, it's worth having twice.
