Well it looks like legally the <a href="http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml;jsessionid=KH5JKXLPEPOUWCRBAEZSFFA?type=domesticNews&storyID=4068376">U.S. can declare that it is "provisionally free" of <acronym title="Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy">BSE</acronym></a>. This might be a little soon until we are sure that the cow is from Canada. I think more investigation needs to take place before the administration tries this.<br />n<br />n<i>Standards set by the World Organization for Animal Health say a nation can be classified as provisionally free of mad cow when the disease is found in imported cattle and authorities are diligent in rooting it out and in maintaining safeguards.</i><br />n<br />nBut in a way this appears as a way also to counter attack the <a href="http://www.consumerfreedom.com/headline_detail.cfm?HEADLINE_ID=2291">anti meat activist that are starting to crawl out of the wood work to try to panic the American public</a>.
