I am not a big fan of conspiracy theories but I am begging to think there might be something to some of them. Yesterday afternoon while out checking water after preg checking the heifers I saw a helicopter flying towards me. We are off the beaten path and don't see many helicoptors so I watched it as it flew right over me. I was amazed to see that it was a military helicoptor of some kind. Now there is not a major military base close to here and I have never seen a militarty helicoptor fly over this area. When there was still a bombing range at Forsyth I would see fixed wing aircraft (have a B-52 fly about 200 feet over your head once) but never a helicoptor.
Now I don't know a lot about helicoptors but after extensive searching on the internet I finally found a picture of what I think the helicoptor was. Now what a special operations Pave Low was doing flying over here I have no idea but i didn't think much of it yesterday.
Now I am not saying there is any connection between the two events but this morning to my suprise two employees of the EPA showed up on my door step and wanted to see the unregistered feedlot on my place. There is no feedlot on my place but they showed me satellite photos of my corrals where I worked cattle and told me routine satellite survelliance and analysis indicated there was a feed lot here and they wanted to see it. Now this was also the same place the helicoptor flew over me yesterday. Beginning to sound like a conspiracy to me. I mean the day after I see a special ops helicoptor I get a visit from Government officials, which is real rare, investigating problems on the place.
In all seriousness though this whole thing is a little disturbing to me. Our government while doing "routine satellite survelliance and analysis" feels that I have a "unregistered feedlot" that the EPA needs to stick its nose in? Seems a little bit much to me. I mean isn't there something about innocent until proven gulity. The guys that were here looked the situation over and informed me they would let me know what the determination was on the "feedlot." Being as its not a feedlot I am not too concerned on that score but I am concerned on how our Government is spying on us. Seems a little wrong to me.
A conspiracy is everything that ordinary life is not. It’s the inside game, cold, sure, undistracted, forever closed off to us. We are the flawed ones, the innocents, trying to make some rough sense of the daily jostle. Conspirators have a logic and a daring beyond our reach. All conspiracies are the same taut story of men who find coherence in some criminal act. Don Delillo

I also wish that the EPA had something more important to do than bug an honest rancher about something that they shouldn't even be worrying about.
Never saw any sattelite photos though. I don't know what it takes to monitor feedlots but that seems way overkill.
In any event, I can't imagine why you wouldn't be in the clear; I wouldn't think that you'd have enough traffic in and out of your place to justify calling a corral a 'feedlot' :-/
I know that the government has been running somewhat of a surveillance over Montana, taking photos here and there. There was an article online about it and I'll try and find it later today. But that's odd to see one of that magnitude. It might be from the Air Base in Helena, but they have Black Hawks.
